Introduction Paper

What I'm interested in learning from this class is others perspectives on the situations that the class proposes, how others feel about things like racism, capitalism, and so on.  I'd also like to think that I could have some good perspectives on the topics, some of which many people may not expect because they label me as the stereotypical white male.  I really don't know what to expect from the people I've yet to meet, and I just hope that it's an open environment to all perspectives, not just those the class will be teaching about.  Any monetary topics will also catch my interest, as I've been a salesman from the day I was born.

I don't expect anything out of the ordinary from the professor of the class.  Any conversation beyond the standard preaching to the class from a podium will be enjoyed, as that tends to put me to sleep, especially in a class that I've been forced to take to fulfill a GER of some sort.  Not that I don't want to learn about comparing ethnic... studies, but if the professor can involve students it can really turn a slow class into something that will actually keep my attention.  I also expect a professor to be understanding of all perspectives, and would be more then happy for any healthy debate from the other side, as long as the professor is willing to admit the other side isn't instantly wrong, and take it with an open mind.

I'm a sophomore here at Washington State University.  I come from a medium sized town called Sumner in the hardly ever changing area that lies between Tacoma and Seattle.  I'm 19, and younger then most of my peers, and I always have been.  I believe this has given me a level of mental capacity and maturity that is a year or two ahead of most people my age that are a grade or two behind.  I enjoy almost every type of music, as long as it has some originality to it.  Everything from Hip-Hop to classical, country (... some country) to techno will suit my needs, it just depends on the day.  I'm a Management of Information Systems major that just switched from history for high school education.  I really enjoy history, but computers have been a huge part of my life since middle school.  Every new technology, new code language, software or design technique gets me all giddy inside, and I figured you should do what you love, so I switched to MIS.  I've built my own computers, networks, and web pages, and loved doing all of them.  I have worked at many different jobs in my life, with many different types of people, they include; The GAP, Jack in the Box, Round Table Pizza, Washington X-Ray, and currently Student Computing Services, where I teach students, faculty, and staff at Wazzu the how to on numerous computer tasks.  I've never been fired or let go from a job, I've always just looked for the next best thing.  Onward, upward, has been my motto for quite some time.
